A hands-on look at the BLACKPINK × MUD 10th Anniversary Heritage Collection, unveiled at the National Museum of Korea on August 8. The products were not yet available for purchase at the museum, but visitors could handle and examine every item before the official on-site launch.
On August 8, 2026, BLACKPINK marked ten years since its debut.
That same day, the BLACKPINK Heritage Collection, created in collaboration with MUD, was unveiled to the public at Museum Shop II inside the Permanent Exhibition Hall of the National Museum of Korea.
A black-and-pink display stood at the center of the museum shop. The shop itself was crowded with weekend visitors, although it would be misleading to interpret the overall foot traffic as demand for this particular collection.
This was not yet an official on-site sales launch. Visitors could not purchase the products at the museum that day, but they were allowed to pick them up, try them out and inspect their materials, size, weight and finish.
That made the experience more than a conventional product display. It was a hands-on preview of a collection that, until then, had largely been seen through promotional images.
BLACKPINK’s signature black-and-pink palette runs throughout the collection, but the collaboration does more than place the group’s logo on familiar merchandise.
It begins with forms associated with Korean material culture—including the bandaji storage chest, folding fan, moon jar and wind chime—and reinterprets them through BLACKPINK’s visual identity.

What to Expect
The collection is displayed inside the museum’s regular retail space rather than in a separate pop-up store.
All seven product types can be viewed together at a central display. More importantly, visitors can handle the actual products and examine details that are difficult to judge from online images.
We were able to compare their materials, surface finishes, proportions and weight in person. Some products could also be opened, held or tried in the way they were designed to be used.

QR codes placed around the display directed visitors to official online purchasing information.
However, no products were available for purchase at the museum on August 8. A museum staff member told K-SELECTIVE that on-site sales at the museum are expected to begin in September. As the exact date has not been announced, visitors should check the latest information before making a trip specifically to purchase the collection.
Online orders are available through YG SELECT, with shipping scheduled to begin sequentially in September. Official offline sales through theSameE and selected channels are also expected to begin from mid-September.
Hands-On Review
Bandaji-Inspired Storage Box

The bandaji-inspired storage box is the most visually immediate product in the collection.
Its translucent pink acrylic body is finished with black corner fittings, hinges and a decorative latch. Rather than reproducing a traditional wooden bandaji, it extracts the chest’s structural features and rebuilds them as a contemporary display object.
The contrast between the pink acrylic and black hardware appeared much sharper in person than it did in the promotional images. The BLACKPINK branding is relatively restrained, allowing the box to read more like an interior object than conventional fan merchandise.
Its visual impact is strong, but the material and price should be considered together. This is an acrylic object rather than a piece of wooden craftwork, and it is priced at KRW 90,000.
Soju Glass Set
The soju glass set revealed the most interesting details when handled.
Each glass has a frosted pink finish and a small heart-shaped base. From the side, it resembles a miniature goblet. When turned around or viewed from above, additional heart details and a subtle BLACKPINK mark become visible.
The design is more considered than a standard glass with a printed logo. Its appearance changes depending on the viewing angle, and that quality is far easier to appreciate in person.
The set includes two glasses and is priced at KRW 52,000.
Its decorative appeal is clear, but buyers should check the care instructions before use. Because the exterior has a colored coating, washing, storage and repeated handling may require more attention than an ordinary clear glass.
Folding Fan
The folding fan offers the most direct expression of the collection’s color identity.
When opened, its gradient moves from pink to black across the fan. The transition appeared clearer and more vivid in person than it did online, especially when the entire surface was fully extended.
It retains the recognizable form of a traditional folding fan while making BLACKPINK’s color palette the central visual feature.
Priced at KRW 28,000, it is also one of the most accessible products in the collection. For buyers looking for a practical souvenir rather than a larger display object, it may be the easiest place to start.
Three K-SELECTIVE Picks
Best Design Object
Bandaji-Inspired Storage Box — KRW 90,000
The strongest visual representation of the collaboration. Its form communicates Korean heritage, while the translucent pink acrylic and black hardware make the BLACKPINK connection immediately recognizable.
The main consideration is value: buyers should remember that this is an acrylic design object, not a traditional wooden chest.
Best First-Hand Detail
Soju Glass Set — KRW 52,000
The product that benefits most from being seen and handled in person. Its frosted surface, heart-shaped base and layered internal details distinguish it from more conventional logo-based glassware.
Best Entry Pick
Folding Fan — KRW 28,000
The most approachable combination of Korean form, BLACKPINK color and practical use. It offers a clear sense of the collection without requiring the higher budget of the larger display pieces.
Prices are based on the official online listings available at the time of this preview and may change.

WHAT IT IS
The BLACKPINK Heritage Collection connects the group’s 10th anniversary with forms and motifs drawn from Korean cultural heritage.
According to the National Museum of Korea, the designs were inspired by the pheasant and plum blossom motifs found on an original jeogui, the ceremonial robe worn by an empress during the Korean Empire.
The idea behind the collection is expressed through the phrase:
“Heritage, Where Time Becomes Value.”
The collection consists of seven product types:
– Bandaji-inspired storage box
– Folding fan
– Soju glass set
– Moon jar
– Wind chime
– Cutlery set
– Keyrings
BLACKPINK’s signature black-and-pink palette runs throughout the collection, but the collaboration does more than place the group’s logo on familiar merchandise.
It begins with forms associated with Korean material culture—including the bandaji storage chest, folding fan, moon jar and wind chime—and reinterprets them through BLACKPINK’s visual identity.

WHAT IT ISN’T
This is not a collection of museum replicas, nor is it a premium craft line made entirely through traditional materials and production methods.
It is an officially licensed lifestyle collection that translates selected forms and motifs from Korean heritage into BLACKPINK merchandise.
The emphasis is on design, collectibility and cultural association rather than historical reproduction.
The August 8 showcase was also not a conventional retail pop-up. Visitors could handle and try the products, but they could not purchase them at the museum that day.
Finally, this should not be read as a long-term ownership review. We examined the actual products, their materials, finish, size, weight and basic usability, but we have not tested them through repeated washing, extended storage or everyday use.

– Material-to-price value is your main purchasing priority
– You need proven information about washing and long-term durability
– You do not want to wait for September sales or shipping
Review method and limitations
Review Method and Limitations
Review Method
K-SELECTIVE visited Museum Shop II at the National Museum of Korea on August 8, 2026, the first day the collection was presented to the public.
All seven product types were handled and examined in person. The review considered:
- Material and surface finish
- Size, proportions and weight
- Visual details not clearly visible online
- Basic handling and intended use
- Design connection between Korean heritage and BLACKPINK
- Price positioning within the collection
The three featured picks were selected according to three separate criteria: overall design impact, details best appreciated in person and accessibility as a first purchase.
Product names, specifications, prices and sales information were cross-checked against official museum announcements and YG SELECT listings. Information about the museum’s expected September sales schedule was provided by an on-site staff member.
Limitations
This review is based on a pre-sale hands-on preview, not long-term ownership.
The products were available to handle and try, but they could not be purchased at the museum on the day of the visit. K-SELECTIVE therefore did not evaluate:
- Durability after repeated use
- Washing and cleaning performance
- Resistance to scratches, fading or discoloration
- Long-term storage and maintenance
- Packaging, delivery condition or after-sales service
Material quality was assessed through direct observation and handling rather than independent laboratory testing.
Prices, availability, shipping dates and offline sales schedules may change after publication. The number of visitors in the museum shop should also not be interpreted as verified demand or sales performance for the BLACKPINK collection.
K-SELECTIVE View
The collection works best when it allows Korean form to lead and BLACKPINK’s identity to follow.
The bandaji, moon jar, folding fan and wind chime were not chosen simply as surfaces for branding. Their existing cultural associations give the collaboration a structure that ordinary concert merchandise often lacks.
The strongest products are also those in which the heritage reference remains visible without explanation.
The bandaji-inspired storage box communicates through its shape and hardware. The folding fan needs little introduction. The soju glass set takes a more playful approach, using translucent pink glass and heart-shaped details to transform an everyday drinking object.

Being able to handle the products before the on-site sales launch made a meaningful difference. The acrylic transparency of the storage box, the finish of the glass and the color transition of the fan were all more legible in person than in the official images.
The lack of immediate on-site sales was disappointing, but the display still served a useful purpose. It allowed visitors to assess the products before ordering online or waiting for the museum’s expected September launch.
K-SELECTIVE VERDICT
SELECTED — Hands-On Preview
The BLACKPINK Heritage Collection translates the group’s first decade into objects shaped by Korean cultural references.
For now, the best reason to visit the museum display is not to buy but to compare.
Visitors who want to purchase the collection at the museum should wait for the confirmed September sales schedule. Those considering an online order may find it useful to examine the materials and proportions in person before deciding.
This verdict is based on a hands-on preview conducted on the collection’s first public day. A complete assessment of durability, maintenance and everyday usability will require a separate review after the products become available for purchase.
